Paso Robles is a city in San Luis Obispo County, California, located between Los Angeles and San Francisco on U.S. Route 101. The City of Paso Robles was originally known to the local Indian tribe (Salinan) and Mission Fathers as the Springs, or the Hot Springs because of the many mineral springs in the area. The City of Paso Robles incorporated in 1889, has a current population of around 32,000, has a total area of 19.12 square miles according to the United States Census Bureau. The population within the city has increased 8.1% from April 2010. The average indicated growth rate was .81% per year. The county as a whole has shown a growth rate of around .5% per year over the same period; but the number of home sales increased dramatically in 2014 through the end of 2018.
